If you have any details of Past Members of the Troop who are no longer with us,
please let me have them and I will post a notice on this page.

Mervyn "Taffy" Roberts

I am very sorry to report the passing of Mervyn in June 2017. Mervyn was a
founding member of the very first MCDT when with 31 Training Regiment RA.

Mervyn was very proud to be a founding member of the Team, and spoke
often of his time with the Display Team.

We send our deepest sympathy to his Granddaughter Megan and all the family.

Aged 68

It is with sadness that I announce the passing of Ginge Redman on the

William Harvey Hospital.

Ginge never married (A confirmed Batchelor) and lived with his brother

David in the family home in Chartham, Kent.

He was a member of the MCDT from 1974 - 1977. All who knew him

will remember him with great affection.

Ginge's funeral took place at Barham Crematorium, Near Canterbury

We send our sympathy to all of his family at this sad time.

Tom severed in No2 Display, and later on in the MCDT. He was a

very popular member of both teams, and a good friend to many.

Tom's parent unit was B Troop, 32 Minden Bty RA.

Tom served in the Metropolitan Police from 1979 - 1990.

Tom's funeral will take place at 15.00hrs at the Hurlet Crematorium,

Ralph (Joe) Truman

I am sad to report that Joe passed away on the evening

of the 6th March 2026.

Joe as he was known to us was a member of  No2 Display Team in the early 1970's.

He was a very popular member of the RA Recruiting Troop, and a good friend to many

including myself, which has lasted up until the present time.

Joe enlisted in the Royal Artillery in 1969 and joined the Recruiting Troop in 1971,

and that is where he met his future wife Janet in 1972 when she was serving

in the WRAC at Woolwich.

Joe and Janet attended many of our Reunion's, and he enjoyed meeting up with his old

comrades and having a good time.

Joe's family had a private cremation for him.

We send our deepest sympathy to all of Ralph's family, especially

his Wife Janet and all of his devoted family.

Mike (Mick) Elliott

I am sad to report that Mike passed away on the evening of the

1st April 2026, aged 75 years.

Mike joined No1 Display Team on the 1st January 1971 from his parent unit,

5th Regiment Royal Artillery.

Tony (Taff) Jenkins and myself joined the team on the same day and together with

Geraldine, Mick Benge and others have remained very close friends for all these years.

Mike and his devoted wife Jenny were keen supporters of our Reunion's,

and I know Mike really enjoyed meeting up again with his old comrades.

For our close 'Gang' we will miss him terribly and he will always be in our thoughts.

Sadly in recent times Mike had suffered ill health which he bore with great dignity

and with a smile on his face, now he is out of pain and suffering.

Mike decided he wanted a private cremation, but we will be holding a

Celebration of Life at a later date yet to be decided.

We send our deepest sympathy to Jenny and all of Mike's family at this sad time.

Rest in Peace Mike, Ubique
