Keith Holderness

Keith was born and grew up in Southend on Sea, Essex. He joined the Royal Navy at

15 years of age, and you can read about this time in 'From Matlot to Gunner'. His family moved to Kingston upon Hull in 1967, where he joined the British Army in 1968.

After his service ended he became the Lord Mayors Senior Beadle in his adopted City, attending seven Lord Mayors. He took up his post as Mayors Macebearer in April 1989 and has attended twenty five Mayors of the Borough.

 

Keith and his wife Catherine retired in 2012 and now live in Spain.
