From Matlot to Gunner

Keith had the unique experience of serving in both the Royal Navy and the British Army as a young man. Although he only served for a short time in the Navy, the experiences and training he received stood him

in good stead and influenced him for the rest of his life. This became a mainstay for his future Army Service, and made him the person he is today. This is Keith’s story of his training at HMS Raleigh and Woolwich, and his experiences of life as a young Gunner in the

Royal Artillery.

An excellent read. It brought back many good memories of friends, the Mayors and council staff from my hometown Southend. I am sure that those from Hull will find the same.
It is the story of a honourable career, sometimes having to cope with more personal problems than is fair and one that Keith should be truly proud of. I congratulate him on a great book.
